Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of learning methods, school environment and leadership on the quality of education and the superiority of student character at Muhammadiyah High School Surabaya. The population in this study were 6758 students of class II Muhammadiyah High School in 7 seven) Muhammadiyah High Schools located in Surabaya City. As many as 160 class II High School students who were respondents with the sampling technique used purposive sampling method and in analyzing the data using PLS (Partial Least Square) software. The results of test that the 7 hypotheses which include: 1) learning methods have a significant effect on the quality of education of Muhammadiyah High School students in Surabaya with a t-statistics value of 1,786 > from the t-Table value of 1.705 and a positive coefficient of 0.141, hypothesis is accepted. 2) school environment has a significant effect on the quality of education of Muhammadiyah High School students in Surabaya with t- statistics value of 5.045 > from t-Table value of 1.705 and positive coefficient 0.627, hypothesis is accepted 3) Ieaadership has no significant effect on education quality of Muhammdiyah High School students in Surabaya with t-statistics value 0.195 < from the t-Table value of 1.705 and the coefficient negative 0.023, the hypothesis is rejected 4) the quality of education has a significant effect on the character superiority of Muhammadiyah High School students in Surabaya with t-statistics of 3.618 > t-Table value 1.705 and positive coefficient 0.522, hypothesis is accepted 5) learning method has a significant effect on the character superiority of Muhammadiyah High school students in Surabaya with t- statistics value of 1.776 > from the t-Table value of 1.705 and the coefficient is positive 0.024, hypothesis is accepted 6) School Environment has a significant effect on charater superiority of Muhammadiyah High School students in Surabaya with t-statistics value of 5.790 > from t- Table value of 1.705 and positive coefficient 0.365, hypothesis is accepted 7) leadership has a significant effect on character superiority of uhammadiyah High School students in Surabaya with t- statistics of 1.715 > from the t-Table value of 1.705 and the coefficient is positive 0.023, hypothesis is accepted.
