Abstract

This study aimed to investigate some differential factors that affected the transformational success of Bank Pembangunan Daerah (BPD, Regional Development Bank) in Indonesia in 2024. The population of this study were all stakeholders in provinces that had established BPD. There were all twenty seven BPDs. The samples were nine BPDs referring to the Commercial Bank Business Category (BUKU) classification. They involved BPDs for BUKU III, three BPDs for BUKU II, and three BPDs for BUKU I. The data were collected within eleven months from November 2017 to October 2018. Moreover, this study applied discriminant analysis. As the results, this study indicated that there were seven variables as predictive factors for perceiving the accomplishment of BPD transformation in Indonesia. They involved learning and growth perspectives, nation's culture, organizational culture, public policy, bank soundness, regional autonomy, and sustainable competitive advantage. The nation's culture was the differentiated variable as the strongest endurance. However, the sustainable competitive advantage of BPD was the strongest hindrance to infer the success of BPD transformation in Indonesia in 2024. Keywords: Differential factors, BPD transformation, nation's culture variable, sustainable competitive advantage.
